This is a history of early computer art and animation at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc., from the initial computer art creations made there in 1962 to about 1975. Still images, stereographic 3D pictures, computer animation in 2D and in stereoscopic 3D, and experimental aesthetics are some of the topics covered in the history. Bell Labs research employees and also various visitors are included. The history was written by A. Michael Noll, after careful determination of who did what when. There are considerable references.
